I engaged Dr. Thakker's services for a mole check. There was no communication as I was examined. A spot on my leg was marked w/o communicating with me. Had she asked, I would have told her the dark freckle was there since birth & hadn't changed in 60+years. When I asked the difference between a freckle & a mole to learn more, her response was "a lay person wouldn't be able to tell." My master's degree is in research, so I'm sure I raised an eyebrow. She said she would 'try to find something on it.' Without any conversation, she sliced the freckle, left w/o any communication about it, & never closed out our session where I could have asked questions. Her assistant returned with a skin cream marketing brochure with pictures unrelated to my question. Surprise, the biopsy results were benign. Afterwards, I went to a different dermatologist. Not knowing my education & w/o having to ask, in less than 5 mins, I was given medical terms about the moles & where to find more beneficial info.
