My son came to see Dr. Tosti for a hand and wrist injury and he spent less than 5 minutes with him. He looked at the x-ray, felt his hand in 2 spots and told him to continue wearing a brace and rest-which he had been doing for a month, with no relief, following a Rothman Urgent Care visit. He was eager to give him a cortisone shot and stated if that if his hand didn't improve he may need to consider surgery. We had to ask about PT and he nonchalantly said, you could try OT.He felt a MRI was not indicated. We left the appointment underwhelmed, to say the least.A second opinion with a Penn specialist was top notch and the doctor was extremely thorough, and stated that without a MRI a proper diagnosis couldn't be made. He did definitively rule out the diagnosis Dr. Tosti had given.
