As someone with a chronic condition, I've had my fair share of bad experiences with medical professionals, but I have never been treated with as much hostility and aggression as I was in Dr. Ruggiero's office. I asked to reschedule a pelvic exam, and in return I was told that my birth control wouldn't be refilled unless I 'took off my clothes.' Dr. Ruggiero talked over me and made disbelieving sounds while I described my pain and symptoms. I was lectured and interrogated, and I left the building feeling violated and in tears. As far as I can tell, Dr. Ruggiero doesn't have a compassionate bone in her body.
