Since Dr. Hosey was retiring shortly, he assured me that Dr. Murphy would be able to help me. I had to have a triple fusion done on my ankle. At first, I felt very comfortable with him, as he seemed to take an interest in my problem, and discussed what I was to expect- some limited mobility but NO PAIN! That sounded wonderful. Here I am now more than two and a half years after the surgery still having lots of pain anytime I move my foot, even though he told me everything looked good and my ankle was healed. Then he claimed it was tendinitis that was causing the pain and I just had to be patient. Out of frustration I finally went for a second opinion and once a proper x-ray was taken I found out that Dr. Murphy had inserted one of the screws incorrectly which was the cause of my pain. Once the second doctor removed the screws I have been totally pain free and found out that I never had tendinitis. I only wish I would’ve gone earlier for a second opinion. I have basically Iost close to two years of living normally as I was unable to do too much due to the pain. I’m now able to participate in my exercise classes again with no limitations.All I can say is be aware of your gut feelings and go for a second opinion if things don’t seem to go as promised.
