How likely are you to recommend Dr. Aligeti?
Rude, insensitive, uncaring, aloof and harmfully ignorant. First this "Doctor" scheduled a 9am appointment, then her staff called my wife and said she didn't have an opening until noon. So my wife took the dog for a walk and by the time she got back the "doctor" was calling and then demanded to know why my wife was late to her appointment. She insisted my wife, not her staff, had made the mistake. She was then incredibly short and rude with my wife who has autism and when my wife asked me to help in the meeting, the "doctor" asked if it was because my wife, who she'd been talking to for ten minutes at this point, didn't understand English. In the end she left my wife in tears, said she didn't want to see any patients with autism, and when she offered the name of another doctor, I asked if she could email the information to us. She claimed she didn't know how email worked! Imagine seven years of medial schooling and she still doesn't know how email works. That's either a scathing indictment of the education system or a sure sign that this "doctor" need to find another profession. She certainly has no business being in charge of other people's mental health.
I have been seeing her for over 2 years. However, my recent experience with Dr. Aligaty left me shocked and disappointed. I was charged a no-show fee after arriving two hours late for an appointment. I explained that the delay was due to a miscommunication with the front desk. I reminded her of our long-standing patient-doctor relationship and my history of punctuality and commitment to being on time. Unfortunately, she was not willing to waive the fee and appeared indifferent to my explanation. It also felt that she seizes any opportunity to set people up and punish them. As a result of this incident, I have terminated my ties with Lifestance Health. I no longer feel that I can trust them to provide future support. The doctor-patient relationship should not only be about medical care but should also be built on trust, empathy, professionalism, advocacy, and respect. I intend to escalate this matter to a higher authority outside Lifestance Health and refuse to make the payment. Additionally, I am considering speaking out publicly about their inconsiderate way of treating patients. This is not solely about the $100 fee; it's a matter of principle, respect, and fairness.
