How likely are you to recommend Dr. Ahmed?
The beginning of my time with suburban rheumatology was promising. They didn’t immediately put me on a biologic and the medication they did put me on has worked wonders. I was further helped by starting hormone replacement therapy. When I said this, the doctor’s face soured as I started to explain. She cut me off and told me it was because I JUST started working out. I had been working out the multiple years. I have been seeing her. It was so invalidating. I moved from the table to the chair because I was upset and knew if she touched me, I would have a sensory overload meltdown. I am neurodivergent. Regardless of the studies I wanted to site. She continued to cut me off while I was trying to explain. I said. “I need you to listen to me” she said “No I don’t” I felt so defeated and on the verge of a panic attack. Yet another doctor that won’t listen and is biased against the advancement in women’s health.
I have been a patient with the practice for a little over a year. I can say that from the first visit, I have found my experience to be a positive one. Whether I am meeting with Dr. Ahmed or Audrey, it is evident in both their actions and their expressions that they genuinely care and are wanting to help their patients. There are times where they may seem rushed, but I know from my professional background that nearly all medical practitioners have too much on their plate, and I've got no doubt that this is even more amplified with specialists like Dr. Ahmed. Whether it be responding to patient portal inquiries, asking the front office questions, or actual in-person interactions, I have always observed and felt that the practice is patient-centric. I can only speak to my experience, but my experience is that Dr. Ahmed is a knowledgeable, compassionate practitioner who is committed to helping - in any way within her abilities - improve the quality of life for her patients. I couldn't give Suburban Rheumatology a stronger vote of confidence, and am so glad to be in their care.
She is caring, easy to talk to, and very thorough.
Was recommended back in December by my primary. First available appointment was scheduled for the end of March. Received a call that appointment needed to be changed because of lack of help. Wonder why? This appointment was rescheduled for May 3rd at a time that I could make it from Newfane, safely, and on time. I was called about a week before to tell me that I needed to change the time to an earlier one. I said this was not going to work for me as my 1/2 day begins at 12:00. I finally agreed to a 12:45 appointment, because I was afraid that if I didn't I would be rescheduled for another extended wait time, but explained that it was going to be very difficult to get there and that if I was late would that be a problem. I guess not since the appointment was scheduled. Today was my appointment. I arrived 11 minutes late because of distance, traffic (scheduled around 12:00 rush hour), construction, etc. Came in, paid co-pay sat down to wait. I was told the PA(?) was new so the doctor wanted to be there for the appointment which is why the time was changed. Receptionist was beyond helpful and friendly. About 10 minutes later I was told by the Office Manager that since I was late they would not longer be able to see me. I was devastated to say the least. I repeatly asked him to talk with the doctor, restating how long I have been waiting for this appointment and how the time had been changed and I had advised it would be more than likely that I would be running late. He finally did, all the while saying she would still say no, and of course that is what happened. I asked what their late policy was and was told 15 minutes, but you need to call to let them know you'll be late. Let's review that I did tell them I would most likely be late because the time they were asking was not feasible for me. I received my copay back, which I did grab rather unkindly, but who wouldn't have. I will NEVER go back there, recommend her practice to anyone who is suffering, and make sure that she gets a bill for the time she wasted of mine that is just as valuable as hers. SHAME on Dr. Ahmed and her office manager for being so uncaring. Receptionist was the only saving grace to this debacle of a doctor's office.
