Unfortunately this was the worst experience I’ve had with Memorial Hermann. Dr was super rude & unprofessional. Dr Salam Gharaybeh has rescheduled my appointment 3 times. Which I was told was due to “vacation” from staff members. When I let the receptionist know who called me that this was unacceptable & that it was their 3rd time cancelling which caused me to miss 6 days of work. (3 ultrasound appts for kidney & 3 supposed Dr visits) Thankfully the person who I spoke to on the phone was very polite & overlapped my appointment for 10am. Kudos to her she asked if that was okay & I let her know that was great & didn’t mind waiting bc I just wanted to make sure my son’s kidney was okay. When we were in the visit the dr went over the ultrasound & gave us inaccurate information. She mentioned the kidney was bigger than before but when we asked if his kidney was functional she said no. We were completely confused & asked as to why it was nonfunctional if it was bigger. She then changed her answer & argued that wasn’t what she said. Yet both me husband & I confirmed what she said then she agreed she made a mistake. My concern at that point was if she is not able to take accountability for her mistake. We all make mistakes & that’s okay but we as humans need to accept our errors. My son’s health is not something I take lightly. We have dealt with sooo many health issues since he was born & we take each appointment seriously & make them a priority. At the end of the appointment the Dr Salam Gharaybeh brought up the fact she was told I was upset for her rescheduling my appointment. She stated she was not in fact on vacation & rescheduled for other reasons. I let her know that regardless of the reason for rescheduling it was rude & unprofessional of her bc that meant I had to miss work 6 different days. I make sure to arrive early for my appointment each time & she should atleast grant me the courtesy to keep her appts as scheduled. This Dr was so unprofessional & tried arguing with me that it was in fact not “rude.” What Dr has the time to argue while having patients waiting for her in the lobby. Dr Salam Gharaybeh is the reason we are now considering going to Texas Children for the kidney department. I honestly don’t trust the results we were given & are going for a 2nd opinion. I am extremely upset at the fact that I had a horrible experience & am still stuck paying for my appointment. Mind you my husband & son are in the room watching her trying to argue my son had no reason to feel uncomfortable watching a grown person raise their voice at their mom. The only reason she silenced herself was when I told her I would be filing a complaint. How could it be that I could have more decency than a Doctor. When I told the front desk about my experience & they asked for the drs name they weren’t shocked at all! That says everything about who Dr Salam Gharaybeh really is & it’s sad
