Dr. Balaraman is the most thorough, determined, dedicated, caring, and patient centered doctor! She is highly skilled, most knowledgeable, and very thorough. I can’t say there’s the world’s best follow-up outside the office (given her vast patient load or her office staff’s thoroughness with follow-up) so sometimes a request like a call back slip through, or other minor thing or two. But her diagnoses and treatment plans are the most thoroughly researched and developed specific best plan for the patient. I’ve learned during my current (2-18 to 2-?) Beaumont-Royal Oak hospital stay that she is very highly respected and revered by her peers and associates throughout the hospital. Dr. Balaraman gave me her cell number in 2020 when she first diagnosed my Non Hodgkin Lymphoma. There were admin/scheduling related problems this hospital visit that required immediate action to correct. I texted Dr. B. many times over the weekend and she instantly responded every time. I don’t think she did anything else over her weekend off than talk to and follow up with the hospital staff, and she got things resolved!) But most importantly she has me 1000% confident I’m in the very best hands I could hope to have been referred to! She will give you whatever time you need in appointments to ask anything that may be on your mind regarding diagnoses and/or treatment. She even takes a personal interest outside of healthcare in her patients, with wonderful “bed-side manner.” One can get the feeling that she’s just rushing through things and you may feel unimportant, but she is very productive with uncanny instant comprehension of the condition at hand and best treatment plan. Dr. Balaraman is usually under a heavy patient load in the office. But be patient, she’s extremely busy and spread fairly thin (I can’t imagine how she does it all) but you will end up benefiting greatly from all I’ve shared about Dr. B.!!!
