It's been many years since I've seen Dr. Afran (I am 35 now), but he left a lasting impression on me. I started going to him when I was little (maybe as young as 3 or 4). He remained my ophthalmologist into my teens. He was always right on target with any issues I was having. I remember I was having episodes in high school where I was blacking out. I went to so many specialists and had so many tests done. I went for my yearly exam with Dr. Afran and he was always genuine when asking how things had been since my last appt. We told him what I was experiencing and from just the one conversation, he knew what was wrong, even though it wasn't in his realm and didn't involve my eyes whatsoever. I was diagnosed with Keratoconus in 2015, when I was 26 years old. I remember wishing I still had Dr. Afran to help me through all of that. It's not every day you find a doctor, never mind a PERSON, like Dr. Afran.
