Dr Harbison is a skilled surgeon of the highest competency but, more importantly and quite rare, he is compassionate and tender-hearted like I've never seen before in a medical doctor. I was diagnosed with rectal cancer back in 2008 after having a colonoscopy at Temple Hospital, where Dr Harbison was teaching and practicing at the time. He was my surgeon and II cannot say enough about how grateful I am to this man. Actually, he operated twice on me. The bowel resection to remove the tumor resulted in my having a colostomy bag for about 8 months, after which Dr Harbison did away with the colostomy and reconnected everything. After surgery both times, I was put in a ward at Temple Hospital in which the nurses told me they try to get all his patients, and all the nurses on that ward couldn't say enough about Dr Harbison. I am grateful beyond words to this fine man of consummate skill, and an uncommon bent toward kind-heartedness and even love for his patients.
