I saw Dr. Schiffern for a shoulder replacement that developed an infection. The shoulder replacement had been done by another doctor twice. Then it developed an infection which the first doctor did not check for even after repeated complaints of pain. Dr. Schiffern had to explant my shoulder and put in an antibiotic spacer before it could be replaced for a third time. The worst is behind me and I hope to have the shoulder replaced in November now that the infection has been erradicated. He listens actively to the patient and answers any questions you have about the procedure.
