We hardly know where to begin in praising Dr. Shruti Sevak. Today we had our (hopefully) final check-up after a years-long journey with Dr. Sevak. As emotional as the appointment was, bringing an end to my husband’s ordeal, equally tearful was the thought of not seeing her again. My husband’s prognosis was bleak and the future looked dim. We were referred to Dr. Sevak, who stepped in and changed our lives. My husband had urinary surgery, prostate surgery, radiation, hormone therapy, complicated by an enormous fistula. While in the hospital, we overheard a doctor comment “he’ll probably be on a bag for the rest of his life.” He was referred to Dr. Sevak, who quickly assured us she could come up with a Plan A, and if necessary, a Plan B. It was a tough year, but she was with us every step of the way. Today my husband is cured, and in excellent health. She is a brilliant surgeon and has an incredible bedside manner. Only sad ending is that we'll miss having her in our lives!
