It’s been 2.5 weeks since my Vitrectomy surgery, and today when I went to my post op appointment, Dr Dhoot applauded me for following her strict instructions of keeping my chin down toward my heart for 5 days, and NOT sleeping on my back. My Macular Hole has closed, and the gas bubble is gone…woo hoo!! The staff at the surgery center was wonderful and our interactions with Dr. Dhoot’s team have been professional. The surgery itself was easy breezy, but the 5 days post op were tough. Having an amazing husband and supportive family was vital in my recovery. It was nice to have visitors stop by to help pass the time. It’s easy to converse while keeping your chin down. Would also suggest renting the Vitrectomy recovery chair. You too can do this…Commit, dig deep and celebrate your accomplishment at the end of day 5.
