I attended this appointment for a disability evaluation and found the interaction very upsetting. I explained my physical limitations before the exam. I was asked to perform movements that were very difficult and painful for me. When I struggled, I felt dismissed and the way I was spoken to felt degrading rather than supportive. When I could not complete certain movements, I was told to leave. The situation felt abrupt and uncomfortable, and I left feeling embarrassed and unheard. The exam left me in more pain than when I arrived, and the overall experience lacked patience, compassion, and respect.

Absolutely no respect from the doctor or the assistant from the first words spoken. First off, staff was very rude. His “assistant” was rude while asking me questions, argued with me about my pain frequency. I was in tears of anger after him. The doctor was very abrupt when be came in the room, he asked me a few questions, then finally asked why I was upset. When I told him, he said, “I highly doubt that, he (the assistant is the nicest person I know.” Then told me I misunderstood him. He then asked me questions very rudely and condescendingly, so I picked up my stuff and told him that I could tell her already made up his mind about me and so we would not be proceeding with the exam and I left. I was so upset and angry. This was an appointment for SSD.
