My son was referred to Dr. Henry for a Ganglion Cyst on his wrist. Called their office and said we needed a formal referral. Okay, took him to his PCP who examined his wrist and said yeah, 100%, Ganglion Cyst, and gave us a referral. Called the office again and was told we need an ultrasound, and that we'd need to go revisit our PCP to get the ultrasound and then also tried to schedule us with a different doctor than the guy we'd been referred to.So, first, a ganglion cyst is obvious. I can understand wanting a formal referral, but the idea that a qualified doctor can't identify a ganglion cyst by location and physical exam is kind of ridiculous. It's also confusing that, instead of just referring the prospective patient to an imaging provider (so you get the imaging back) you would send him to ANOTHER doctor?!? The net is that Henry may be great, but this office and its procedures are unfriendly at best. We'll find a different surgeon.
