My daughter had intermittent acute pain and saw Dr Mathews several times, and at every visit he insisted it was not appendicitis and did not order any imaging studies that would have definitively determined the diagnosis. The last visit with him he again said it was not appendicitis, and said he didn’t know what to tell us, maybe an endoscopy could be done. The very next day her pain was so bad we went to the ER, where they immediately did a CT scan and determined she had appendicitis. She has her appendix out within 24 hours of being admitted.
