This is regarding his staff and office. The office manager at this office is unprofessional and rude. I came into this office as a new patient, while filling out my paperwork. The office manager comes out telling me my AETNA insurance card is a dental insurance card. I told her I have used it every where for years and the card is for both medical and dental. She then goes on and says that all the years she never seen a card like this and insists this is a dental card. I told her I am certain this is a medical card, that's my member ID on there, and they can even call the back of the card to verify. I asked her do they take Aetna Open Access, and she couldn't answer that she just says we take AETNA. Like how do you not know exactly what insurance you take or are in network with? Then, keep in mind, this conversation was in the LOBBY IN FRONT OF OTHER PATIENTS, she goes 'well we will go will bill them and if they don't cover, you're responsible for the bill' and walks away. I took this as a threat because a good doctor's office would have checked the patient's insurance, make sure they take it/in network instead of just 'oh it's okay give patient a big bill' or 'they will be responsible for it, who cares' attitude. The office manager should really educate herself to check the insurance cards again and be more familiar so the next patient with the same card never has to go through what I had to with the disrespect and acting like I have no knowledge of my own insurance card. Just because my insurance states 'dental insurance ppo' on it does not mean it's just a dental card. It clearly states 'PCP copay' and the amount and my old PCP name on there and 'MEDICAL GROUP#'. Why in the world would a dental insurance only card state all that. I'm just blown away because I have never had an issue or has ever been talked to/treated like this at a healthcare facility before. Horrible experience here, I can't even imagine the poor other patients who have to be responsible for the medical bill just because the office has no knowledge of what insurance they take.
