Dr. Yelena Bataykin is a disgrace. She recently joined our pediatrician's office, which we've been with for 14 years. Because of Dr. Bataykin, we are sadly pulling all our 6 children out of this office. I've been trying to get my 3 y.o to be seen by his pediatrician for 3 days for a visibly infected finger, which needed antibiotics after topical treatment was unsuccessful. On Friday morning, the staff told me to come Sunday, because until then, there are no doctors on premises. On Sunday, we called all morning with no answer. We showed up at opening time and were denied service because we "didn't have an appointment". This office, like all NYC pediatrician offices, has always taken walk ins. From 10:00 - 10:20am, I pleaded with the staff and the doctor to see my child, it would only take a minute to phone antibiotics to his pharmacy. In this entire time, there was not a single patient in the waiting room besides me. When I walked into Dr. Yelena Bataykin's office, she was sitting on her phone, doing nothing, refusing to even look at my baby. She said she will not see us under any circumstance without a scheduled appointment, and called me a bad parent for "waiting so long to treat the child".
