In May, 2023, I was referred by my primary doctor for potential coronary artery disease to Dr. Tai. I had previously seen Dr Tai for an echocardiogram and stress test. I saw Dr. Tai May 9 and he wanted to wait 6 weeks, possibly for more tests. No tests were ordered. I came in for my follow-up appointment and the staff had made it in Winter Haven, where I didn't even know they had an office. I was scheduled for 2 weeks later to see the PA, Julie, around July 10.. Julie said Dr. Tai had ordered a vein study and a cathartization. I was scheduled Aug 10 for the vein study. The cathartization was scheduled Aug. 30, over 3 months after I was referred for coronary artery disease. Aug. 29 at around 5pm, Dr. Tai's office canceled the cathartization due to the hurricane. They said they would set up a make-up day for those whose procedures were canceled. For the next 6 weeks I called at least 5 times to see when they were going to schedule the cathartization. There were a million excuses but no appointment made. On Oct 5, now 5 months after my critical referral and after continued decline in my breathing, Dr. Tai's office called to set up a cathartization while I was in a meeting with Hospice, having just learned that morning that my mother was dying. I explained the situation and they said they would call back to schedule it. Today is November 20, 2023, 6 months after I was told I needed a cathartization and they have not called back. On Nov. 16, I saw a different cardiologist. I was diagnosed with heart failure. I will be getting a cathartization in the next couple weeks. My condition is VERY serious. I know it has worsened over the time Dr. Tai's office failed to act. I believe Dr. Tai is a very good doctor but you are only as good as your staff. And their delays have caused me stress and a worsened conditiion.
