I was referred to Dr. Chen after three general surgeons were not able to diagnose my GI bleed (stomach) after 12 weeks, 11 transfusions and several EGDs. Dr Chen is so personable and I was immediately at ease. He called me personally at my home 3 hours north of MSP to discuss a plan even before I had been seen by MN GI physicians. At my office visit, Dr Chen was concerned enough to send me directly to the hospital, where I was soon diagnosed with GAVE, and immediately treated as an inpatient. He has continued to show interest in my rare condition and has implemented a plan of care that gives me confidence going forward, not an easy thing for someone who has a history of significant bleeding and severe anemia! He has called me personally more than once since my latest treatment at MN GI. This kind, and caring doctor has my utmost respect and admiration. I only wish I could easily receive care from him (and MN GI) during the winter when I am in Florida!
