Dr. Edward Adams, Psy.D

The words arrogant, dismissive, patronizing, condescending, and worst of all, invalidating, are several of the words that come to mind when reflecting on my encounters with Ed Adams. In the spirit of giving therapy with him a chance, I saw him five times. The following is an example of what I experienced with him, but unfortunately it is far from a full description of the problems I encountered. I told him several times that I feel satisfied with life, to have him reply, several times, that I was really very unhappy. This in itself is not a problem, but when I asked him for any specific criteria, his response was that was how he felt. When I asked him about his having made statements that contradicted other statements he had made, his reply was 'I'd better be careful what I say to you.' I think the worst is that after having made clear to him the problems I had with his work, he asked for a hug, and like an idiot, I gave him one. I hope someone finds this review helpful.
