I thought it was odd that I was able to get an appointment at this clinic for my 3 year old's OT needs within a week, whereas other OT clinics have had months long waiting lists. I decided to try it anyways and went to our initial consult last week. We were seen 30 minutes late that time, but it went OK. I spoke with the OT Elise Hollinhead, who stated my daughter had sensory processing issues. We set up an appointment for today at 8 am, then 9 am almost every Monday after. I get my daughter up an hour earlier than normal and sit in traffic for 40 minutes each way trying to get there. I arrive on time at 8 am to be told that the OT, Elise, didn't have me on the schedule and was apparently entirely out of town/away. They couldn't/didn't fit me into the schedule so I missed an hour and half of work, spent my hard earned money on gas and driving 40 minutes each way, and had a cranky tired 3 year old to deal with on top of being a single mom. My child's daycare worker last week told me she didn't recommend Children's OT and now I see why. I highly DO NOT recommend. How can I get my toddler help when they don't even show up or bother to reschedule?
