I saw Dr. Sykes for a reoccurring problem that had been happening on and off for years. She did not take a look at the issue, told me to get an allergy patch test, disregarded me when I said I didn’t think my issue was due to an allergy, and then prescribed a corticosteroid. I didn’t feel comfortable with this so I saw another dermatologist the same day who actually took a look at the issue and diagnosed it. As it turns out, the steroid she had prescribed me would have only made the problem worse. I could have saved a few hours and about $60 had she actually taken a look at my symptoms. It seemed like she wanted me in and out as fast as possible so she could take her next patient. I am aware I could have spoken up and asked her to do more but a patient should not have to remind a healthcare provider to provide healthcare during an appointment.
