I wanted to take a moment to share my thoughts about my experience working with Isabella Schaefer at The Recovery Space LLC. As a recovering alcoholic, seeking counseling was a deeply vulnerable step for me. I was looking for a safe, nonjudgmental space where I could process my emotions and challenges openly. Unfortunately, over time, I began to feel a disconnect during our sessions. Instead of finding clarity or comfort, I often left feeling more discouraged and overwhelmed. At times, it felt like my experiences were being questioned or invalidated, and I sensed defensiveness in our conversations. This dynamic made it difficult for me to feel truly supported, and I sometimes left with the impression that I wasn’t doing enough or that my worth was being diminished. The way certain situations were handled left me feeling hurt and betrayed, which has shaken my ability to trust in this process. This experience has been especially difficult because trust and understanding are crucial for someone in recovery. While I’ve decided to step away from counseling with Isabella, I hope this feedback provides an opportunity for growth and reflection. I believe these insights could help create a more supportive experience for others in the future.

When I initially sought your guidance, I was looking for a safe and supportive space to share my thoughts and emotions freely. However, lately, I’ve been feeling a disconnect in our sessions. I often leave feeling more down and discouraged than when I arrived. It feels as though my experiences and perspectives are being questioned or judged, and I sense a lot of pushback in our conversations. At times, it seems like you become defensive and align with the people or situations I’m struggling with, which makes it difficult for me to feel understood or validated. These interactions leave me feeling as though I’m not doing enough or that my value and worth are diminished.
