I recently served a 2 yr prison sentence for a dui. Jamie was my doctor before prison. Prison didn’t offer the meds that I needed, so I went thru 20 months of severe panic attacks, racing thoughts, & the inability to focus. When I was released, I was not offered much help at all for my mental health. I was still experiencing all those symptoms, so I reluctantly started misusing an otc med that provided minimal relief. I finally got an appt w Jamie 3 months later & told her everything. I was desperate to get off the otc med & FINALLY back on my regular meds. I was stunned when she refused to do so. She prescribed me an antidepressant that she admitted she had never prescribed before on top of the antidepressant I was already on, even tho I wasn’t experiencing symptoms of depression. She told me to stop taking the otc med for 2 weeks. I did exactly that, which sent me back into panic attack mode. Finally the 2 weeks ended, only for her to tell me, she would never offer the help I needed.
