I would never recommend Jane Swingle or actually Optum or Northern Dutchess Hospital for that matter after my experience I had giving birth to my first child there. On the evening I was in labor I timed my contractions for 3 hours when they first started, then called the after hours service for Optum as instructed. Previous to this phone call I had never met her before in going to Optum for my pregnancy care. She began to argue with me that I didn't sound like I was in labor and that I was being dramatic. It sounded like me being in labor either woke her up or inconvenienced her in some way. Against my better judgement I waited an additional 3 hours after calling the after hours line to go to the hospital because of what she said to me. Sure enough, when I arrived at the hospital, I was 3 cm dilated, lost my mucous plug and was having steady and consistent contractions. The nightmare only goes on from there as I cannot go into much more detail in this limited post, I wish I could.
