I waited months to see a clinician. When I did see one, I was sick with a cold, sent home from work, medicated and woke up within an hour for my virtual appointment. At the time of this writing, I have now completed my 2nd bag of cough drops because my voice keeps going out sporadically. I had been formally diagnosed with GAD and expected to receive the same condition (or something similar). After all, I have been actively managing it for years. However, during my first and only session, I didn't appear to meet the textbook criteria and was immediately referred out. What got me was that Dr DeMarte (she runs this practice) refused to allow the clinician I was with to use multiple sessions to diagnose me. The clinician really stuck up for me and tried to make it work. However, Dr DeMarte is ultimately in charge of this whole practice and seems to appreciate quick diagnosis, even if it is changed later (I am fine with that!). I protested being referred out. Poor clinical practice, IMO!
