Similar to the other reviewer, we were not allowed to discuss past issues and how we had gotten to where we are. The past issues are a foundational crack that we both felt needed help repairing but she refused to listen to any of it. Jennette would stop me from talking while allowing my partner to speak over both of us. She wouldn’t challenge him, even when he made exaggerated statements mid session. Instead, she would nod and ask me how I felt. There were multiple opportunities for her to call out gaslighting behavior, dramatic/exaggerated speech, blame, etc. but she puts it on the women to basically be better and cautious to not upset the men. Terrible therapist with her own deep rooted misogyny. She also has little control herself, having gotten angry during a session when we argued—again because she wasn’t allowing us to work through past issues that were preventing us from moving forward. Even my partner finally saw how one sided it was getting. We’re seeking a new therapist.
