Joy Messick, NP

My father has had recent heart issues. Unfortunately he wound up going to UMass. The care has been absolutely horrendous. He has had a six months wait to see the cardiologist and was given an appointment with the NP. Joy gave us inaccurate information and did not bother to look at my father’s records. She actually argued with us saying my father saw the doctor and was in the hospital several times which did not happen! When I questioned her contradicting herself on a serious issue she told me to stop rolling my eyes. She was cold and disrespectful. He is now getting care at Mass General and they are excellent, thorough and found further critical issues with my father that UMass did not which has saved his life! Joy seemed like she was bothered and could care less because my father is elderly. He was an extremely active and healthy man a few months ago and the care he got is inexcusable! I hope I can help others with this review because this could have been a matter of life or death.
