First, Klein started the appointment by saying “so, what do you think?” I responded, “In regards to what?”. She replied “about your treatment.” I was a little confused and responded, “I was hoping you would share your thoughts on the best treatment for me today.” No hello. No how are you. It was the most bizarre way to start a conversation after diagnosing someone with MS. She did not seem familiar or educated in newer medications and treatments. She poorly described pros and cons of different treatment options and seemed to hold a heavy bias towards a brand that has a long history of not working in preventing MS relapses. When asked about cancer risks for certain medications she could not answer the question directly. When asked how many of her patients were successful with the drug she was recommending for individuals in similar cases, she was unsure. She was also unsure of how many people have not had success on this drug. She seemed complacent in her education and was not helpful.
