My daughter and I recently visited this office because she had an infection in her left eye. Unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing. My daughter has prosthetic eyes, and it quickly became apparent that the staff had very little knowledge or experience with them. They wanted to place her on machines to examine her eyes, even after I explained several times that she has prosthetics in both eyes and that nothing could be properly evaluated without removing them first. What concerned me most was that the staff seemed unaware that prosthetic eyes can be removed and examined. I understand that not every ophthalmologist specializes in ocular prosthetics, but I would expect a basic understanding of them or, at the very least, a referral to someone with the appropriate expertise. The entire appointment left us feeling frustrated because it seemed as though our concerns were not fully understood. I hope the office will consider additional training in this area.
