Karen was very dismissive of the emotional abuse I went through. She rolled her eyes all the time when si was telling her about it. Did she think I was “just complaining?” Does she know nothing about the relationship between abuse and low self esteem / shame? All relationships are dysfunctional. That’s what she said. She failed to distinguish between normal dysfunction and abuse.
