Expected professional medical help, instead received judgment and threats. I went to the ER for severe lower back pain that left me unable to walk. I was seen by PA Katheryn Stocking. I explained I had already been taking over-the-counter pain relievers and a muscle relaxant, but nothing was helping. Despite this, she repeated the same treatment plan, ordered an X-ray and urine test, and told me no further evaluation was needed. When I asked for a second opinion, she said I would have to be discharged and re-check into the ER. She also threatened and called security and walked out of the room. Me advocating for myself felt like an argument to her which couldn’t handle as a professional who should have therapeutic communication skills. I felt dismissed, unheard, and treated with no compassion while I was in extreme pain. As a patient seeking help, I expected care and communication—not to be treated like a burden. Very disappointing experience.
