I did not want to have to write this review, but we sent our daughter to this social worker for mainly anxiety related issues post pandemic over the past 18 months, and I was personally not happy with Katie's ability to meaningfully and objectively teach our daughter how to cope and address the issue. Katie's parental communication response times and skills were poor, and her overall affect on my daughter and my relationship eventually took a surprisingly negative turn when she became involved and had never been negative prior to that point her entire life. Additionally, It consistently took a very long time for her to respond to me with regard to my inquiries through several phone calls and emails and when she did respond her responses were short and cursory when asked tough questions. On occasion, I also asked her about certain authors who I have read and studied within her own field, and her view on their positions on issues that Katie "specializes in" as this was pertinent to my daughter experiences, and she seemed unaware of who they were even though they are in the mainstream figures in the media right now. One recent additional negative effect of her counseling affecting my child who is now 18 and has a very promising future, is that my child has recently had to navigate certain unforeseen challenges herself which she is not equipped for at her age which have proven detrimental to her future, due to a more fractured relationship that has resulted between she and I as a partial result of her counseling. I would not recommend her as a counselor.
