I have been a patient of psychotherapist Laura Essen for almost two years. She was recommended to me by a close and trusted friend. I started therapy because I was feeling depressed and anxious as a result of unresolved childhood abuse and neglect issues. Laura has helped me through some very difficult times. She has many qualities of a great therapist. She is very experienced professionally, trustworthy, highly skilled, listens without judgment, is empathic, and is very effective in helping me feel understood. Most of all, she is down to earth, and really cares! She has the ability to put you at ease, and help you feel safe, comfortable, and accepted. This makes it very easy to trust her, open up to her, and share my burdens and challenges with her. Laura is an amazing therapist in my healing and growing process. As a result of her expert help, I am gaining a lot of insight into my personal issues, and making many positive changes within myself, and in relationship to others.
