I had a foreign object in my index finger. I first went to an emergency med clinic that said they could take the piece out no problem, but when I arrived, they said they didn't have the expertise and that I needed to see a specialist. (What??) So, I made an appointment with a dermatologist with no idea what to expect at this point. Then I met Lauren Balbas. Maan, was I in for a surprise. Lauren not only listens with her ears and head, but with her heart. She has patience and superb listening skills that few doctor's and specialist DO NOT possess. When I told her the issue, she immediately solved the problem within seconds. Wow, why couldn't the emergency clinic do that? How embarrassing. It was absolutely life changing to experience this level of care from Lauren. This is somebody that knows what is going on and truly uses her knowledge, skills and expertise to the full extent AND genuinely cares, not just someone with a degree.
