48 y.o. plus size (sz 16) woman with long history of various chronic pain and referred by Rheumatologist for new Osteoarthritis dx in spine. She judged me the instant she walked in - said at my age this is normal (Said 10x) she repeatedly questioned me on why I haven’t been working out. Didn’t listen to me at all or look at my paperwork said she would refer me to PT to get me working out and if I kept this up I would end up with osteoporosis. Not being able to walk for 15-30 mins without excruciating pain is NOT NORMAL and is part of the reason I CANNOT WORK OUT. She didn’t actually call me lazy and fat but felt very much judged that she thought that. I have a long history of medical treatments&injuries. I don’t lay in bed and stuff my face with tacos while watching reality TV. Her after visit summary claimed we discussed all these things that we absolutely did not discuss in our brief appointment which was mostly her shaming me for not working out. I use to Run & go to the gym.
