I never imagined we would be treated with such disregard at a pediatric neurology practice. My daughter has a complex epilepsy history and had been under the care of Dr. Steven Wolf for years. Unfortunately, over time, our follow-ups were increasingly routed through Nurse Practitioner Patricia McGoldrick, whose approach became dismissive and adversarial. At our final appointment, Patty raised her voice at me in front of my daughter, dismissed my legitimate concerns about puberty and seizure management, and inaccurately documented the nature of our visit and my treatment preferences. When I formally and respectfully requested that we continue care under Dr. Wolf—or any other physician in the practice—we were abruptly discharged. No transition plan. No referrals. No consideration of the psychological or clinical impact this would have on an 8-year-old child with a vulnerable medical history.
