This woman kept confusing me with another one of her patients. She began our first appointment acting like she knew me, until I told her this was my first time at the clinic. She then insisted that I get tested for STDs and start birth control. She had a very arrogant air about her: “I know what you need and you are ignorant to what you need.” I have a masters degree in nursing, information I did not share with her, because there was no need. I could tell she had already racially profiled me.
