I saw Dr. Brooksby for a VA Compensation & Pension psychiatric evaluation. The appointment lasted under 10 minutes. When I tried to explain my documented psychiatric history — including hospitalization for mania and a Bipolar Disorder diagnosis — he cut me off and said "we will get to that." He never returned to it. He was short and dismissive for the entire visit. At the end, he sent me to fill out lengthy, difficult assessment forms alone in the building lobby and told me to leave them by the elevator rather than reviewing them with me. I did not feel he took the evaluation, or me, seriously.
