I needed pacemaker lead extraction surgery for two failing leads I researched and found Dr. Zivin. Met with him once and felt very confident. Surgery was delayed until my pacemaker battery got to six month life level. My battery unexpectedly depleted to End of Life--meaning I needed a replacement surgery asap. Zivin's office staff would not consider me emergency and could not work me in to schedule for at least one month despite my local cardiologist saying I could not wait that long. His nurses told me to just get a pacemaker battery change surgery and then do the additional surgery a short time later. WHAT? Why would you ever make a patient go through two surgeries? And why would insurance pay for that? Dr. Zivin never did call me back--was only able to speak with two different nurses who seemed to think it was no big deal to have two surgeries. Very uncaring. You are just a number to them. No thanks.
