Dr. Rai recently came to visit my mother, a Southwest Kidney patient, while she was in the hospital for issues peripheral to but related to her kidney issues. Although it was expected that the hospitalist would be the case manager, Dr. Rai visited mom on several occasions, reviewing her labs, assessing her in person and make adjustments to her medications that would speed her recovery, shorten her hospital stay and maintain her quality of life. We are SO impressed with Dr. Rai's initiative, caring and thoroughness.
