My husband has been dealing with vestibular issues and we were referred to a neuro-otologist. Enter Dr Backous. We had just moved to Pierce county and it was also a pretty close location. When you’re nearly passing out by riding in the car that’s an additional win! He mentioned a potential surgery might fix the issue having had multiple rounds of tubes placed since toddlerhood. Even had a CT same day and referral to a couple other tests to rule out other issues. 2nd appt when those other tests proved negative and ruled out surgery we had a whole different Dr. Dismissive, cut us off and made both of us feel stupid when asking questions or bringing up other specialists suggestions from his ordered testing. One appt he went in for ear pain, was dismissed in 5 mins and had to “remind” this dr to look in his ear before we left. He ended up getting a new tube placed on the spot and would have ended up with major infection or worse had my husband not demanded he go back and look in his ear.
