How likely are you to recommend Dr. Rosenberg?
Here is my honest review of dr. Fred Rosenberg. I’m not going to sugar coat anything because my experience was not good. I’m a sexual assault survivor. This info will be important in a moment. I went in to Dr Rosenberg because my PCP believes I have a hiatal hernia. My appt started off with some small talk about me being Italian and then soon drifted to me being fat. He told me I was at risk of being diabetic because of my weight but didn’t look at my most recent bloodwork to see that I am not even close to pre-diabetic, and I’ve had many tests to ensure this is accurate because diabetes runs in my family. He didn’t look at my labs or do his due diligence before making an assumption about me because of my appearance. I explained that I’m only able to eat maybe a half cup of food at a time because if I eat more, it triggers vomiting. If I lay down more than 45°, it triggers vomiting. If I go to sleep before 6 hours after eating, it triggers vomiting. His suggestion was medication. When I spoke up more and said I want an X-ray he told me he would do an exam there instead. He handed me a gown and told me to keep my bra and underwear on. He did not ask me to have the gown open in the front or back, so I put the opening in the back and laid down on the exam table. When he came back in the room, he asked me to sit up. At no time did he tell me I need to switch the direction of the opening of my gown. He then asked me to lay back down and proceeded to rip open the gown at my belly with no warning. I froze as he did his exam because it triggered a very bad memory of being assaulted. When he finished his exam, he told me to get dressed and he would write his notes and come back. I waited 15 minutes before leaving the office because I wanted to see if he would tell me he was willing to do the X-ray, all while trying to keep it together emotionally. IF he would have returned to the exam room, I’m not sure how I would’ve handled it, but I do know I would have asked if he was going to agree to the X-ray or do something else to see if the PCP’s prediagnosis was accurate. I did not get that chance. As a woman, a fat woman, I am tired of having to fight for what I need because doctors only see what’s on the outside. If I ask for an X-ray, I should be able to get an xray to ease my mind. This person did not listen to my needs at any point in our conversation.
