I have been a patient of Dr. Harvey Shapiro at UNIQ MiND and WELLNESS for some time, and while there are a couple of things I appreciate, my overall experience has been poor. On a positive note, the office is very responsive. They either answer the phone or get back to you fairly quickly if you leave a message. I also like the convenience of Telehealth visits. However, there have been some issues. The staff can be a little rude and careless in their interactions. On one occasion, they only provided me with 14 days of medication instead of the prescribed 28 days due to a math error. Additionally, it took the doctor 2 weeks to review my blood test results, which is longer than I expected. My biggest issue was when Dr. Shapiro refused to refill my lithium prescription because I had missed appointments. While I understand the importance of keeping appointments, withholding necessary medications doesn’t seem like the best approach. Good luck in finding the best psychiatrist for you.
