I was seeing her for a high white blood cell count during pregnancy and later for a low platelet count. At a weekly appointment 2 weeks before my due date, my blood pressure was very high. I insisted that she contact my OB before I left the building. She seemed to dismiss my pressure as 'not that high' but called due to my persistence. An hour later I was diagnosed with preeclampsia and induced into labor. If I listened to her and went home, my son and I would be dead.
