If you are a parent, seeking attentive, personal and professional care for your child, OPTUM IS NOT THE SYSTEM FOR YOU. It is impossible to schedule appointments, doctors are consistently behind schedule or cancelling appointments, no one is reviewing cases in advance or invested in your child's care. You'd be better served by a medical group invested in the care of their patients. After multiple years of meeting with Dr. K (2020-2023), a sleep study was finally ordered for our son by Dr Scott in 2024 - exposing the severity of our sons sleep apnea - API of 42. He's been struggling for 4 years, while we were advised to 'see if he grows into his tonsils.' Surgery was scheduled 6 weeks in advance at the hospital. Surgical team didn't read his case, and 12 hours before surgery we were told they would not operate on him because of the severity if his case. No one bothered to consult notes in advance. We were left high and dry without referral, CPAP Rx or resources.
