On the bright side, Kevin spent nearly an entire hour speaking with me for our first visit. On the down side, he spent the hour being condescending and uninformative. After awhile I wondered why he wasn't ending the appointment since he clearly was irritated with every question I had about my MRI and my spinal condition and surgery options, and started to get the sense that he was keeping the meeting going just so he'd have more chances to prove he was 'smarter' than me. As a patient, we have a right to understand our medical condition. My condition is new and the MRI shows it is very serious. Yet, Kevin wasn't interested in providing straight answers. For example, I asked if my MRI showed whether my condition had either feature A vs. feature B. He answered, 'Yes' - A and B being two different things. When I pushed back to clarify, he said, 'lay people aren't meant to understand this.'He wouldn't be my choice for surgery - or for a follow-up appointment.
