NOT A LIPEDEMA EXPERT! DO NOT LET HIM TOUCH TOUR LIPEDEMA! The doctor who diagnosed me with lipedema, his colleague, sent me to Dr Tan to see if he can help me with possible debulking of lipedema. Dr Tan said he disagrees with the diagnoses. He's a plastic surgeron not a doctor. He said after I have lost almost 200 lbs the lipedema has resolved itself. Lipedema is a chronic condition, it does NOT resolve itself, it does not go away, there is no cure. I do need skin removal but lipedema is under my skin and can be felt. I have lipedema in my arms, calves and buttocks as well but he did not address that.....it just resolved itself with my weight loss. DO NOT LET DR TAN TOUCH YOUR LIPEDEMA. He can remove it but he does not understand this disease. So few doctors specialize in lipedema and for this doctor to be recommended and not have this in his profile is a red flag. BIGGER RED FLAG is for him to say lipedema resolved itself with weight loss. I have every symtom of lipedema, I was at Shirley Ryan Ability Lab where I was unofficially diagnosed and took time to get an officially diagnoses for this guy to say I lost weight and problem solved. RUN AWAY FAST! Do your research and get a second opinion. Dr Tan might be good at what he does but he is not a LIPEDEMA expect in any way! RUN, RUN. RUN!!!!

Dr. Tan did my reconstructive plastic surgery after my preventative mastectomy. I am so happy with my results. Not only am I healthier from the surgery but my boobs look amazing. he is extremely kind. Fabulous bedside manner and is very knowledgeable in his area. I am shocked that he has so many bad reviews because everything he did for me was outstanding.
