Dr Gardner is practicing as a hypnotherapist as well. ~$1700 and seven sessions have yielded no results. He sent me this in an email before the first session: "I'd like to record the session. You're anonymous, I don't refer to your last name, and it might only be used for teaching purposes." My reply was that I was not comfortable with my session being used for training purposes and I expected our sessions to remain strictly confidential. At our last session he related to me that he shared the contents of an email I had sent to him with a training he was doing. Not only did I feel as if he had violated my request for confidentiality, but I also felt humiliated when he explained that his trainees and guest speaker Dr. Yapko thought the contents of my email were "ridiculous." I still tried to continue since the investment I had already made was hefty, but only wanted to get more assurance from him that he would observe my confidentiality. His response was to stop treating me.
